Excavator Falling Object Protective Structures (FOPS) are critical safety systems designed to protect operators of excavators from potential hazards posed by falling objects in construction and industrial environments. A four post design with a front bolt on window guard and top roof guard. Here are some key features:

Tysea’s excavator FOPS are constructed using heavy-duty materials that can withstand significant impacts from falling or whipping objects, ensuring the operator’s safety even in hazardous conditions.

Tysea’s excavator FOPS feature a four-post design that provides stability and strength that fully covers the machine cab. This structure includes vertical posts at each corner fixed to the machine frame via catwalks or pedestals, which support a protective top lid. Due to the construction of FOPS they can be used over a certified or non certified excavator cab ROPS. The four-post design is capable of withstanding significant impacts from falling objects, effectively protecting and avoiding damage to the cab by dispersing the force throughout the posts and into the machine’s frame, enhancing overall strength.

The top lid of the FOPS acts as a shield against falling debris or objects, effectively preventing them from penetrating into the operator’s cab. Equipped with an emergency escape hatch that allows operators to exit quickly in the event of an accident or unforeseen circumstances.

FOPS are rigorously engineered and tested to meet stringent industry standards, including WCB and ISO, guaranteeing optimal protection during operation. Each FOPS unit is certified to Level II protection, providing the highest level of safety for cab guards.

Despite their protective capabilities, Tysea’s FOPS designs prioritize visibility for the operator, allowing them to maintain awareness of their surroundings while working. We manufacture our screens with a heavy duty grid system with opening sizes customizable to the customer / operator while complying to safety standards. All our FOPS come stock with a heavy duty front window guard.

FOPS can be tailored to meet the unique specifications of different machine models and customer requirements, ensuring an optimal fit for various excavators and operational needs. Additionally, extra protection options such as window guards, door guards, and machine body guards can be installed to enhance safety for both the cab and operator.

FOPS models come equipped with pre-wired LED light pods, enhancing visibility during low-light conditions for safer operations. LED light pods are also available to be installed on the sides and rear of the machine for increased nighttime visibility.

Tysea’s FOPS bolt-on system allows for straighforward installation and removal for any necessary maintenance without comprosmising safety.

Excavator window guards are essential safety features that protect operators by preventing flying or whipping debris and falling objects from entering the cab, while also allowing for clear visibility and compliance with safety regulations. Guarding is available for driver side window, boom side and the rear window. These window guards can be directly attached to the FOG or FOPS or bolted directly to the machine cab.
